Perlu atau mahu?
There is a fine [maybe not that fine] line between the need and want.
I don’t think there’s no ending in finding for the thing we want. It is unavoidable maybe to keep searching and searching. Sometimes it is questionable, though it is obvious, we tend to trade the needs for the things that we want. Ridiculous, right?
Oh, panggilan ceramah. I’ll continue. Promise. With more ideas, perhaps. Doakan! :)
*Update*
So, untuk menjawab kak nana, I am not in dilemma. At least, I think so. Hehe. Anyway, I have to agree with Shahsulong, the ability is one fear factor that should be considered in getting what we want.
It is possible that those things that we just want before, now had became something we really need. Not having it might led us to feel miserable. For instance, before, mobile phone is something unthinkable, what more to have it, and what more, to have it at a very reasonable price. The price that we are able to pay. [though had to swipe first, pay later].
In the yesteryears, while we were in secondary/primary schools, we were taught that there are 3 basic needs in our life, which are food, clothes and a place to live. Who knows that as we grow up, apparently there’s so much more to need than those three basic things.
So, I think, the things that we want, i.e the car, the phone or anything, are actually is the things that we need, in order to fulfill those other stage of needs as according to Maslow, there are 5 hierarchies of needs. [as in diagram below]
We [okay, at least I want them] want the phone, the car and anything because there’s the self esteem needs [in me] that need to be fulfilled.
Actually I don’t really want to write about this stuff as I am obviously not good at it, but who cares it’s my blog anyway I have this simple conclusion to share;
Don’t take things for granted. Identify those things you really need, go for it, secure it, then settle for the things that you want. The things that you want, are actually, could only be worthwhile if you have the things that you need.
You think.
Lu pikirlah sendiri.
